Mecanum

In the field of robotics, there is a specific wheel type that is increasingly popular wheel Mecanum. These wheels are unlike typical wheels because they have unique rollers on tires that enable the robot to move in any direction. The wheels themselves are an important part of many of the robots Hanke builds.

Mecanum wheels are a kind of wheel that has small rollers attached to the tire at an angle of 45 degrees. These rollers permit the wheel to move not only forward and backward but also sideways. This single design feature offers robots limitless freedom of motion without turning.

How mecanum wheels work

Hanke Mecanum wheels and Agv wheels operate by spinning the rollers on the wheels to produce a sideways motion. The rollers on the wheels turn in opposite directions so they are screwed from the side, the same as the differential and result in movement of the robot where you want it to go. This makes the robot loose and accurate at the same time.
